Therapeutic Massage

This massage begins with broad general strokes and then transitions to specific strokes to address problem areas. The therapist uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles. It is a focused, therapeutic massage that targets muscle knots or adhesions and specific problem areas. Using deliberate, slow strokes, friction across the grain of the muscle or trigger point therapy, the therapist addresses chronic tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems or injuries. This type of massage is particularly beneficial for people with chronic pain or lingering injuries that cause limited mobility. It’s effective in treating repetitive stress injuries such as tennis elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome and can be helpful in reducing the symptoms of osteoarthritis.

The application of pressure to help stimulate more than 7,200 nerve endings in the feet using specific thumb, finger and hand techniques based on a system of zones and areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet. Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy that involves the use of smooth, flat, heated stones that are placed on specific points on your body. The localized heat and weight of the stones are said to improve circulation and warm tense muscles, allowing the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure. Warmed stones are also during your massage to allow the heat to penetrate throughout your entire body.

The process through which the energy of the chakras is brought to a harmonious state. Chakra balancing is based on the ancient Indian belief in a series of seven chakras, or energy centers. These energy centers are believed to be located at specific points between the base of the spine and the top of the skull. Each chakra is believed to relate to specific organs of the body, ailments, colors, elements, and emotions.
